THE EFFECT OF GEMINI ASSISTED LEARNING ON STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION OF DESCRIPTIVE TEXT AT SECOND SEMESTER OF BATANGHARI UNIVERSITY

This research aimed to determine the effect of Gemini-Assisted Learning on students’ reading comprehension of descriptive texts. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a
one-group pre-test and post-test design. The population of this research was the second-semester students of the English Education Study Program of Batanghari University, while the sample consisted of 11 students. The
instrument used was a reading comprehension test consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions. The data were collected through pre-test and post-test administrations and analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon
Signed Rank Test. The findings showed that the students’ mean score increased from 68.72 in the pre-test to 94.54 in the post-test. Furthermore, the significance value obtained from the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was 0.003,
which was lower than 0.05. This result indicated a significant improvement in students’ reading comprehension after the implementation of Gemini-Assisted
Learning. It can be concluded that Gemini-Assisted Learning was effective in improving students’ reading comprehension of descriptive texts.
